RE: Issues with Avatars

this is an odd issue however i may have a solution to your problem..

You say you have reinstalled UNP 2 times but did you clear the database..

Go to your UNP admin panel and check on templates look for news_avatarbit and just make sure it says

PHP Code:
<img src="{$avatar}" alt="{$poster}'s Avatar" align="left" />

Thats the only thing I can think of at the moment, if i get anything else i will let you know

RE: Issues with Avatars

Try assigning an image instead of a var

<img src="path/to/image.ext" alt="avatar test" align="left" />

might be able to narrow the problem down a bit

RE: Issues with Avatars

That doesnt work but as you can see

http://scireportals.net/news/news.php

That shows up correct and works. but when you go to include it in your php that is stripped any Idea why?

RE: Issues with Avatars

That is definatly strange if the news.php is working then the include should work.

Have you tried both include methods the php include and the shtml.

It could be down to your php conf or maybe you have the hotlink turned on in cpanel I know that causes an issue with the images.

RE: Issues with Avatars

Why would it work on one site but not another if that was the issue?

I am looking all I can see if the news.php file Creates the news on the fly but the funny thing is the news.txt file shows Correctly BUT when you have it called it doesnt work also.

RE: Issues with Avatars

Are you still running php 5, if you can send me the exact software specs of the server and your php info taking out any personal indo so I can recreate your environment and have a more personal play with the setup.

Have you made any modifications at all to the source or the database

RE: Issues with Avatars

Well the server is a system from Deamhost.com

As for the source nope not a thing and no to the Database.

I might be able to make you a subdomain you can play with if that would work.
