Since there is a News Limit option in the Properties section, is there a way to make different pages with the same number of news displayed as in News Limit?

I am sure this would be possable you would just need to customise some of the php code that renders the news. Also with this you really wouldnt be able to make a cached page due to it requiring more php code in to make more then one txt file or page file.

Yes, paging is definitely an intended feature for either the next or future versions.
