I cant seem to get avatars working on news posts. I have enabled them and have uploaded an avatar for myself but they still don't show up. Any suggestions?
[edit] Looking at news.php shows avatars yet on my main page it doesn't show.
Should be a simple fix. What's the URL to your news directory and to the page that the news is included on?
Well it's set up public_html/index.php and public_html/unp/
I found that if I use news cash instead of news.php it includes the html that renders the avaters.
Ah okay, so are you just using the cache instead now?
yes, but I think it's worth loking into why the avatars dont get included on the main page, so you have the fix on hand for when someone else has this problem :/
I agree, though I don't see why it doesn't work. Normally things break if people have UNP in unusual directories as compared to the page the news is being included on. For example, the news being included on a page in the root directory /, with UNP not one but two directories up, in /software/news.
You have the same / and /unp setup I do, so it should work just fine. :-/
ah I just started using utopia again. I remember posting the avatar hack back on the old forum, glad to see that it has been added as a feature now. Unfortunately its not working for me. Same problem as the orginal poster. Yes my news directory is only 1 level above the root.

Do the avatars work when using the news cache?
